Our History

  • 1996

    Flowtex Servicios Urbanos S.A.

    Shortly after the first appearances of HDD technology on the world scene in the early nineties, Flowtex Servicios Urbanos S.A. was founded with the aim of introducing innovative technologies for the underground installation of urban public utility networks.

    Pioneering HDD

    We pioneered the development of Horizontal Directional Drilling introducing a reliable and environmentally friendly solution for the installation of urban underground networks crossing all kinds of interferences. Over time, we pushed forward the technological frontiers of this non-destructive method, creating milestones that provided the incentive to replace the traditional wet cut-and-cover or dredging procedures.

    2000

    First Binational Crossing Argentina Brazil - Mercosur Gas Pipeline- Uruguay River- 1400 meters- 24” diameter.

    2000

    The company strengthens its position within the Mercosur by introducing a 280 ton rig, allowing for the creation of the Large Crossings Division. Innovations in technology are added such as gyrocompass and electromagnetic steering systems with goniometric fields. The use of downhole mud motors, bits, and reaming systems incorporating rotating cones and tungsten carbide inserts was applied. Multi duct packages are installed in tunnels drilled under more than 500 blocks in the micro and macrocenter of Buenos Aires.

    2002

    FLOWTEX achieves its longest drilling path by constructing a 1600 meter tunnel under the Uruguay River - Binational Crossing Argentina/Uruguay of the Entre Ríos Gas Pipeline.

    2002

    During the meltdown crisis in Argentina, an expansion strategy opening up working opportunities in Mercosur and other South American countries was initiated. This resulted in important contracts in Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela and Colombia.

    2005

    FLOWTEX HDD S.A. incorporates its first compact fully integrated horizontal directional drilling plant which included a fluid mixing and mud recycling unit , dedicating its service to the pipeline maintenance program ,within the YPF Energy co. Integrity Program, reinstalling a total of more than 6200 meters of pipe at risk under water courses of various kinds.

    2005

    Encouraged by the growing demand of the energy sector for the installation of major pipelines, the company focuses its activity on the application of Directional Drilling technology in large crossings, becoming identified as Flowtex HDD S.A.

  • 2006

    FFLOWTEX HDD S.A. installs for YPF large diameter heavy pipes for a 32 "pipeline under the Salado-El Siasgo basin by means of HDD.

    FLOWTEX HDD S.A. becomes part of the Corplex group, adding to its inventory equipment from Enertex S.A., a sister company of the same group. It operates state-of-the-art River Crossing plants, managing and executing the installation of drilling jobs of up to 42” in diameter and 1600 meters in length.

  • 2008

    FLOWTEX HDD S.A. crosses the Santa Cruz and Río Grande River in Tierra del Fuego, under very extreme weather conditions with temperatures reaching -30 ° C, pioneering the application of fluid heating systems.

  • 2009 /
    2014

    FLOWTEX HDD S.A. installs more than 1500 meters of 30"pipes for gas pipelines for various construction companies as part of the plan to expand gas transport capacity for TGN and TGS.

    In order to transport gas from the El Mangrullo deposit, FLOWTEX HDD S.A. drills rock at great depth under the Neuquén River, installing by means of horizontal directional drilling pipelines for Petrobras and YPF.

    2017

    FLOWTEX HDD S.A. assists in going through the Jaaukanigás protected wetland of Santa Fe, installing by means of directional drilling a total of 4000 meters in five sections of 24 "gas pipeline below the flooded watercourses.

  • 2018

    Using state-of-the-art electromagnetic guidance system FLOWTEX HDD S.A. reinstalls the 24 "gas pipeline of Metrogas under Avenida Madero from Plaza Canadá to Macacha Güemes, avoiding a multitude of interferences including public services, abandoned docks, rivers and underground tunnels, all within the construction site of the new motorway Paseo del Bajo AUSA in the center of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.

    FLOWTEX HDD S.A. launches its new compact, highly productive drilling rig with a modern integrated fluid plant.
